We are a voluntary organization founded in 1979. We believe that every child that is born has right for optimum health care. Our association assist in covering the deficiencies that hamper the proper treatment of underprivileged children admitted at the National Institute of Child Health Karachi.

Child Aid Association has the honor of providing help to over million children by providing medicines, paying for expansive laboratory and radiological investigation done outside the hospital. We also have the privilege for the establishment of the first Pediatric Oncology Unit in Pakistan through public donations at the National Institute of Child Health Karachi, a public sector institution in 1999. By December 31st 2008 over 2500 under privileged children suffering from cancer, coming from all parts of the country, have availed the facility of free treatment. The unit due to the dedicated work of the staff, has achieved a 50% disease free rate, despite various handicaps. Coming from lower socio-economic group 60% of these children suffered from malnutrition, and live in dwellings with unhygienic surroundings. Some live in the remote areas of the country where proper follow up medical supervision is not available. To provide the best possible diagnostic facilities for the cancer we have established state of art lab facilities of flow-Cytometry, Tumor Markers, Cytogenetics and Molecular investigation. Free of charge facilities are also available to the patients of other units of NICH. We received generous financial and technical support for the establishment of these laboratories from Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA), Department of Cytogenetics Texas Children Hospital Houston Texas, Rotary Club Sunset Millennium Karachi, Rotary International, Infaq foundation, Sheikh Sultan Trust, Gatron Industries and many other well wishers.

We believe that the our patients should benefit from the latest development for the treatment of cancer, therefore every effort is made to encourage our staff for acquiring new knowledge by attending conferences, seminars and through internet. A group of Pakistani Oncologist working in USA and UK and other countries are always available for consultation for the problem cases to our staff. The Child Association also invites Guest lecturers and hold seminars for this purpose.
