Visit by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Friedrich Professor from University of Ulm, Germany

Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Friedrich Professor Paediatric Oncology Haematology and bone Marrow Transplant at the University of Ulm Germany paid a visit as visiting Professor to the Oncology unit at the National Institute of Child Health Karachi for a month in January 2010 He gave update lectures in Paediatric Oncology. He participated in the ward rounds and saw interesting new cases in the out-patient. Prof. Friedrich also made a report about working of the Oncology Unit, with the possibility of starting Bone Marrow Transplant at an Early date.His visit was jointly sponsored by the Senior Executive Service from Germany and Child Aid Association. Prof. Friedrich in his report has appreciated the dedication of the staff of the Oncology unit and standard of their work.He pointed out lack of Haematology service at the NICH Karachi which is a prerequisite of starting the BMT.He also gave lectures at the Aga Khan University. Mr. Tariq Shafi vice-President CAA held a reception in his Honor. German Counsel General at Karachi also attended the function.
