12th Foundation day Celebrations of Oncology Unit at NICH
Twelfth Foundation Day of the Oncology Unit was celebrated at the NICH Karachi on 30th April 2011. The unit was founded by the Child Aid Association in April 1999 with public donations.
As per our practice, one hundred children, under-treatment as well as having been discharged, were invited with their parents and a magic show and lunch was arranged for them. On this occasion an address of welcome was given by our president, Prof. Nizam Ul Hasan. He highlighted the activities of the association and pointed out that the workload has increased to the extent that it is becoming difficult to accommodate the out and in-patients at a given time due to shortage of space. He announced that a TPN (Total Parentral Nutrition) lab has been established at NICH by the association, and is expected to be functional by mid of May 2011. In the end he made an appeal to philanthropists to come forward and join hands with us to help continue the services we are providing.
Mr. Haji Masood Parekh, Patron in Chief, Pakistan Social & Business Forum, was the guest of honor. He appreciated the good work done by the association and assured his support in future.
